Coast steamer Ponting sinks in storm near San Fernando

The coasting steamer Ponting carrying a large number of laborers from Natvaces to Pan gasinan province struck a reef off San Fernando Union province during a storm and sank. About 100 passengers and crew are believed drowned. Vigcaya rescued 55 and police found 15 bodies.

Judge Peter J. Somers Appointed Seventh District Chair
