Early morning returns from precincts 1 and 2 indicate Sheriff Owens holding a strong lead with majorities across multiple statewide and county races. Taft's and Bartlett's slates lead in President and Congressman contests as counts continue, with further totals listed for judges, clerks, and county officials.
Early returns from the Nebraska election indicate a sweeping Democratic win across the state ticket. Bryan leads with a large plurality while Shallenberger and the rest of the Democratic slate trail by about a thousand votes. The legislature shows a surprising Democratic majority among 132 senators, with at least four of six congressmen likely Democratic.
Post election reports show mixed results with Republicans gaining in some precincts while others tilt toward Democrats. Key figures include Taft carrying Tonopah, Bryan favored countywide, and Nye County sending Hugh H. Brown to the supreme court. Hoisted offices include sheriff J J Owens and auditor Puddy Grimes. Complex tallies continued into the night as clerks tired after long counting periods.
Lincoln Nebraska William J Bryan expressed pleasure at Nebraska election results and the return of many personal political friends. A Lincoln delegation of about 100 visited Bryan at Fairview to affirm their support and his continued influence for reforms while he avoided discussing broader political implications of the victory.
San Francisco electors report 2302 precincts counted with Taft at 182,046 votes and Bryan at 107,770. Other candidates Debs and Chatin share small totals, while Taft leads in the Supreme Court associate seat race with Melvin 145,568 to Maradky 122,289.
President Roosevelt at the White House welcomed congratulatory telegrams and letters after Taft’s victory. He referenced a pre election prophecy from a letter to Senator Lodge dated October 26, 1908. Over a thousand telegrams and many letters arrived in Washington today.

Rioting by students and others over a Japanese goods boycott was halted by soldiers in Hong Kong. One Chinese assailant was shot. Similar unrest reported in Singapore and Canton with alleged secret league promising rewards for harming traitors and paying jail time as martyrdom. Vigorous measures reported to quell the riots.
Washington November 4 Associated Press reports that Republicans will hold about two thirds of the Senate after yesterday's election. Of 92 members, 61 are incumbents with 31 seats to be decided. Ninety two members total. 19 Republican and 12 Democratic holdovers in dispute in Ohio Indiana Oregon and Colorado Nevada remain, with Democrats holding Alabama Arkansas Louisiana Maryland and Republicans likely winning Kentucky Vermont.
Early returns from Cook County Chicago show Taft leading in national and state tickets. Stevenson narrowly defeats Deneen for governor, while Taft’s plurality reaches 76 413 with Republicans securing sweeping majorities.
Unofficial returns show the Democratic Party with eleven members to two for Republicans, a net gain of seven for the Democrats. William H Taft carried Indiana for president according to incomplete returns by a margin around four figures.
Indications at eight oclock suggest Democrats will control the next Missouri legislature on a joint ballot by four votes. This could assure the reelection of United States Senator Stone if all Democrats follow the advisory vote of the senate president. The state remains extremely doubtful on the electoral vote outcome.
