Death of Eugene Howell Bank Examiner in Tonopah
Eugene Howell longtime Tonopah bank official and state examiner died after a rapid illness. The 1862 Reno native rose through mining towns in Nevada before joining the Bank of Nevada in Reno and later the Tonopah Banking Corporation. His death came after a sudden stroke during a day of work. funeral arrangements were left to Oakland Elks and Reno lodge members. Howell leaves a widow and three children and had planned a vacation with his family before his health failed.
