Bank fraud in Mexico ends with forged check and embezzlement
June reports reveal a bold swindle at the Bank of Jalisco in Guadalajara. Ernest Uriquijo used counterfeit letters of credit and a forged $61,000 check on the National Park Bank to siphon funds, aided by a likely confederate in the Federal telegraph office. The Banco Centrale flagged the forgery after Uriquijo vanished. In Oklahoma City, hunter pursuit follows the murder of Sheriff Garrison as armed pursuers close in on the suspect near Dover and Hitchcock. Articles of incorporation announce the Silver Bow Belle Mining Company with $1,000,000 capital, led by avai W. B. Pittman, P. C. Fisler, and F. Pittman.
