Rudolf Unholz defeated Battling Nelson in a ten round match before the Pacific Athletic Club in Los Angeles. City rules prevented a decision, but Unholz clearly led each round with stronger blows, leaving Nelson bleeding from the nose and mouth early and being on the offensive most of the bout.
In Butte Montana on February 4 Judge Lynch ordered Robert M. Lyons, receiver of the failed Aetna Bank, to sue F Augustus Heinze and A B Clements for 97000 believed unpaid on stock Heinze held. The suit covers interest since unpaid and notes the exchange of stock for deposits as the bank dissolved.
Importa Hong in stocks fell to stagnation with light demand in early trading. Activity centered on a few stocks from several brokers who have been selling recently on the short side. Bonds showed irregular activity.

The House discussed President Roosevelt's labor capital message with John Sharp Williams criticizing the President and Bonynge of Colorado attacking Democratic sincerity toward Roosevelt. Cochran defended the administration, while Cochran noted endorsement of a message does not equal endorsement of the administration.
