Daniel Rennie of Tonopah Nevada died last Wednesday at the home of his wintering in San Jose California. He was about 55 years old and had lived much of his life in Nevada working in Bodie Candelaria Virginia City and Battle Mountain. For the past two years he worked at the Rescue mine. Four months ago rheumatism attacked his heart and caused his death as he was about to recover and return to Tonopah. He leaves three sisters Mrs Rennie Mrs Love and Mrs Murphy.
Charles Wolfe and J Patterson were found guilty of stealing halre of trawery from the Kind Company store. They were sentenced to 90 days in jail but the sentence was suspended for 28 hours to allow them to leave town.
The Navarra, a steamer chartered by the admiralty and loaded with horse feed, struck Holmes Island on December 30 while bound for France. Reports say the vessel is breaking up and there is no information about crew safety.
