A new 15 foot ledge on the Montana Tonopah mine yields ore worth 80 to 100 dollars per ton in four feet and 1500 to 2000 dollars per ton in fifteen inches. The discovery near the North Star claims promises to boost Tonopah’s mining boom as deeper shafts reveal richer ore in this district.
Chicago manager Jack Gurley announced a $20,000 guarantee for a finish fight between Jim Flynn and Jack Johnson for the heavyweight title. Nevada was proposed as the battleground with a four round finish plan. Johnson meanwhile left open the possibility of meeting Flynn elsewhere, while Ontario.
Masons from Yonopah lodge No 28 will attend St Mark's church at 7 20 this evening to observe St John's day. Herman Albert, guest of Rev George Gallup, will serve as organist and choirmaster for the service, with a musical program described as excellent and appropriate.

After saving the Guillemet survivors, the Lincairn found an unknown Spanish steamer in distress, which sank with all hands before it could be reached.
About 600 Moros in the Jolo stronghold capitulated to American troops after supplies were cut off and a surrounding siege. Earlier a desperate assault on an outpost by twenty Moros was repulsed with casualties on both sides. no American losses were reported. A Bonanza want ad appears at the end.
The surrender of General Bernardo Reyes at Linares Nuevo Leon is reported as ending a major political crisis for the Mexican government. A ministerial order sent to General Treviño in Monterey directs Reyes be brought to the national capital and held as a political prisoner. Local relatives dispute surrender reports while other revolts in the country are noted as spreading.
A Tonopah couple, Hazel Larcombes and Clyde McKenzie, married in Reno after a quick romance that began in Tonopah. Both attended the University of Nevada, and the bride teaches in Tonopah public schools. The newlyweds plan to reside in Tonopah at their Belmont Development Company home.
