London reports German naval forces attacked a Scotland to Norway convoy destroying one British and five neutral merchant ships, plus a British destroyer and four minesweepers. Surviving crew reached Norway. German destroyers also sank a trawler and two merchantmen off the Tyne. A separate dispatch notes a new German naval department for submarine affairs. General Allenby’s Palestine front saw a 5 mile advance near Luddy with occupancies of Kib Dinh and surrounding ridges, aided by 60 bombs on boats, sheds, and troops at the Jordan river mouth with twenty four hits.
