Guthrie Oklahoma December 14 Governor Haskell tonight was seized with an aggravated attack of indigestion His condition causes concern at the state capitol and doctors report he is resting quietly despite the seriousness of the attack News service dispatches indicate his officers have been alerted and the situation remains under close observation
King Leopold of Belgium emerged from a major intestinal obstruction operation in stable condition and able to sign military law again. Doctors warn recurrence is possible if the intestine paralyzes, with a likely three day crisis ahead. Mrs. O Warner traveled from Reiss River to stay with her mother and sister in winter.
Det. 14 Herman Theodore Krattschnitt, son of Julius Krattschnitt, vice president of the Harriman railroad system, was moved from St. Francis hospital to a special train and sent to Arizona yesterday in a desperate bid to save his life.
Frank M. Graham, a prominent oil man known in San Jose and Los Angeles, died at Maricopa Sunday after a brief illness from indigestion. His death follows a day of illness and was reported from Bakersfield.
San Francisco December 14 The Jone bandit who has killed one man and robbed four stores since last Saturday night robs a candy shop within 20 feet of the scene of earlier crimes. He flees after finding the cash drawer intact, despite two detectives watching nearby. His bold act seems designed to taunt police, as officers have yet to capture him amid citywide pursuit. The bandit’s description matches the man sought by detectives and a third visit to Edward Gleason's drug store is considered possible if it had not been closed by Mrs Gleason's death. Police say the letters from the robber show he will not be deterred.
In Mexico City on December 14 a committee selected by Central American groups prepared resolutions denouncing United States interference in Central American internal affairs. Paradena December 14 Mias Aw nes Claypool 18 daughter of a wealthy resident was killed instantly and Harvey Bikell 24 son of a Grand Rapids Michigan manufacturer was perhaps fatally injured when their racing car went over a grade on the Hagle Rock valley road and fell 100 feet down a steep incline.
Henry Brolaski of Monrovia California testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of the Burkett bill to halt transmission of race track betting odds by telegraph and telephone. He describes bookmaker networks, pool rooms and hand books, and argues government action is needed to end the gambling evil.

San Francisco December 14 J R St Denis a carpenter convicted of killing Henry Huber a jeweler in a North Beach saloon during a quarrel over four dollars was sentenced to life imprisonment at San Quentin.
Pittsburg December 14. Organized labor in the United States and Canada ends a two day conference with a resolve to fight the open shop policy of United States Steel. Samuel Gompers presided as the resolution, signed by key labor leaders, was placed on record. Grievances were forwarded to Taft, Congress, and state governors. The document recalls the 1900 wage reduction notice and urges thorough organization across the steel and tinplate industries and related trades.
Charles F. Bullock an early district settler died November 30 at the Santa Monica soldiers home of dropsy. A 65 year old Nye County arrival, he lived in a tent near East Manhattan. A prospector, he sought fortune in the hills and hoped to live on a stash of gold. He passed away after two months in the Tonopah hospital and a stint at the veterans home.
In Greenwich Connecticut at 12:20 p.m. a freight train whistle alerted Mr and Mrs Joseph Stewart and their three children to a fire in their kitchen. The light frame house was quickly enveloped by flames driven by a windy day. The engineer’s continuous whistle disrupted the family sleep and allowed a safe escape with all five members.
