Kenneth J. Booth of the Honanze and Miss Kathryn J. Boyd were married at 8 PM in Judge H. H. Atkinson’s office. The ceremony remained secret until hours before the nuptials and the couple plan to reside in Tonopah, with the bride previously employed at the local post office.
Two men burst into the Hotel Woodward lobby in Los Angeles, severely assaulted night clerk H. A. Lea, and stole about $70 before fleeing. Lea was found an hour later unconscious. The item notes a December 13 bazaar by the Ladies’ Aid Society at Ballender Building.

The steamer Blackburn from Grimsby for Antwerp collided with the steamer Rock off Sheringham today and sank. Twenty-nine passengers and 27 crew members evacuated in three boats. One boat with 24 aboard reached Yarmouth. others are still unaccounted for.

Santa Rosa December reports the indictment charging Dr. Willard P. Burke with dynamiting Lou Etta Smiths tent. The district attorney opened, stating Burke intended to kill Mrs Smith with dynamite and later poison her. Letters from Burke to Miss Smith about free love will be introduced.

Mrs. dulla Bartley died after being shot yesterday by her business partner James Whiteley. Whiteley then cut his throat with a razor and is not expected to survive.

The Republican committee reported receipts of 77461 and expenditures of 74372 while the Democratic committee reported receipts of 27790 and expenditures of 27771 during the recent campaign, according to reports filed today with the clerk of the House of Representatives.

Advices from Reno report Mrs Grace Mann, who ran a millinery shop in Tonopah weeks ago, is lying at the point of death after a serious operation performed last Sunday. Medical staff have attended her, but recovery remains doubtful.
