Within ten to fourteen days the Youngstown Sheet and Tube plant plans active operation restoring about two thousand jobs.
Washington reports that Speaker Cannon and all former House members were renominated at a Republican caucus. The caucus refused to seat Peter A Porter from New York s thirty fourth district, who had been elected as an independent.
In Reading, Miss Sarah Reber won a $12,000 stock inheritance suit against the late George F. Hagenman's estate executor. Reber and rival Maude Weber dated Hagenman, who died in the Shriners’ train wreck in California on May 11. His last words were, “Don't mind me take care of the women.”

Isaac Stevens, head of the National Silver party executive committee, says in a Chicago interview that gold alone cannot fund the world’s vast development and that both gold and silver are essential. He calls for a universal bi metalism movement and urging U.S. Congress to lead.
