George Rafferty of Tombstone passes away at Copper Queen hospital at 5 am after two major operations. A longtime hoisting engineer and fellow townsman, he served as city treasurer and councilman, and was active in Eline IIOOF AUW and Tombstone Fire Department. He leaves a wife, two children, his mother and four brothers and sisters. funeral planned for Tombstone with later announcements.
Three alleged insane patients were brought before the lunacy commission in the probate court yesterday and committed from Douglas. One man, John Doe, a Mexican, is said to be near death yet sane and was ordered sent to the Douglas poor farm for his remaining days. Lasero Marandi, a Mexican about 65, suffers from delusions of being pursued by Federal troops of Mexico and has broken into the branch jail in Douglas for three weeks.
Federal troops under General Diaz were ordered to commit Clarence Smith a youth aged nine or teen. The boy shown to pose possible bodily harm if at large. He was committed and sent to the asylum from thin county on May 28, 1909 and released about a year ago.
During the present week Tombstone reports a total rainfall near 11.9 inches across three days. Local miners are said to have struck rich ore deposits in the past week. The town is also well represented at the ongoing county fair in Wilbor.

Martin Costello a Tombstone magnate died by suicide in a Fifth Street apartment, shot through the heart. Despondent over illness and liver trouble, he had been in Tombstone only days earlier. he left behind a wife and eight children. His funeral is planned for Monday in Los Angeles.
