The Stuttz Company At Schieffelin Hall In Tombstone
The Stuttz Company performed at Schieffelin hall on Saturday night drawing a large fashionably dressed audience. Mrs Stutts played Little Nell and earned hearty applause while The Widow and other acts drew strong laughter. The Pearl of Love and Roped to Death were advertised for tonight. In Ash Fork a girl on horseback was abducted by an Indian after a stray animal incident. She escaped thrice, and the assailant was hanged amid a hostile crowd with gunfire and telegraph poles after his capture.

Vickers silent on Texas fever findings
J Vickers of the Li Stock Sanitary Commission returned from Tempe where a meeting investigated Texas fever in southern Arizona. The commission found cattle affected by bad water in some pastures with a few deaths, but after fresh water was introduced conditions improved. Dr Chandler reported no Texas fever symptoms, saying the disease is spread by diseased cattle and noting no recent outside cattle entering the valley. Cattle deaths in Pima and Cochise counties were attributed to starvation rather than disease.

The Candidates for Territorial Council
The Prospector profiles Democratic nominee M. Bruce a 39 year old Virginia native who came to Arizona in 1881 to oversee the Washington Pool mines near Washington Camp in the Patagonia mountains. He later managed the Babacomari Cattle Co and has long been a leading taxpayer and cattle interests figure in Cochise County. He chaired the Live Stock Sanitary Commission and helped press federal cattle health inspections from Mexico. He was nominated by acclamation by the late Democratic convention. If elected, he has prior public duty experience.
