Surveyor General F B Ingalls dispatched a double party from Phoenix to survey about eighteen miles square in Cochise county containing nine townships. Jessie B Wright and W H Elliott led eight mules fifteen men wagons and a camp outfit. The party departed later with an eight freight car load and a three month expected survey period amid some rough conditions but promising dry farming land in the corner of Arizona.
