Threecent Fare Cases To Be Heard In Phoenix
In Phoenix on October 6 the federal court allowed Assistant Attorney General R W Kramer to withdraw the motion to dismiss the threecent fare cases and file answers. The three cases arose from a state law for a three cent fare, ruled unconstitutional by the state court as within the jurisdiction of the corporation commission. The commission ordered three fare rates for various Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, and Arizona Eastern lines, which the railroads challenged in federal court. Trial dates expected after April terms as a calendar of cases for trial was announced.
