Col Smith Delivers War Lecture At Crystal Theater

Despite bad weather a good crowd heard Col Dan Morgan Smith speak on The World War and the Fields of France at the Crystal theater. He spent most of the time on the war, with ten minutes on world wide prohibition, detailing trench life and heroism in the St Mihiel sector and the taking of Les Hulte Chemine. Audience tension gave way to applause as stories of his men climaxed with vivid combat scenes. He avoided personal boasting and urged readers to consider the costs of liquor and the constitution. He invited veterans from the 90th to speak, and the talk was continued on page eight.
