Boy Found Safe After 22 Hour Hills Search Near Tombstone
A missing child, Bobbie Eckerman, was found about twelve hours after the search began near Slavin Canyon in the Dragoon mountains. Fire crews, a large local party, and even a Tombstone airplane covered the area, with neighbors from St David and surrounding camps joining in. The boy, found near Lamb Ranch a mile beyond the city, was tired but unharmed except for a minor forearm bruise, and expressed a desire for ice cream before sleeping. Parents and searchers praised the community effort and relief was shared by Mr. H. M. Eckerman who thanked all involved.
