The report notes fourteen true bills and five declines including Territory v Peter Moore. It criticizes the treasurer and clerk books, urges unified accounting, cites improper warrants and lobbying costs, and urges strict license fee collection and rebate bans.
The Grand Jury reports the County Hospital grounds and buildings are in good condition and inmates receive care and food from the contracting physician. They note one inmate’s improper discharge and intoxication on election day and urge supervisors to act. Separate committees report County Recorder and Sheriff offices are orderly. District Attorney’s and Probate Court offices are in good shape. Public notices mention local arrivals, events, and a few legal proceedings.
The district court agendas include plea not guilty trials for Lee and Nardini with bond set. McGowan and Derani pleas and Mary Baker sentencing via fine or jail. Perritory Walker cases. a note that a law banning women from frequenting salons was lost from enacted statutes though enforced in many areas. no such law exists though a past prohibition on “common drunks” and lewd persons remains referenced.
The Tombstone board of supervisors to sell at their court house office on Wednesday September 10 at 7:00 pm described properties for unpaid taxes from 1883 to 1884 including lots in Tombstone and mining claims at Fort Wayne and Richmond. Purchasers may bid as sales continue.
