Regulations for June Registration in United States

Official regulations governing the June 5 registration of all men 21 years or older since June 5, 1917, issued to draft headquarters. It states all citizens and residents must register unless exempt, with registration time 7 to 9 a.m. on June 5, at local boards, and lists exemptions for military service. Arizona estimates 2,500 eligible, about 1,800 likely placed in case 1 after deductions for aliens, disabilities, and dependents.

Arizona mining man missing for a year

Phoenix May 18 Inquiry is being made at coast points after Aivorve Sayers a prominent Arizona mining man who went coast with 500 on a summer vacation. He has not been heard from since Sayers was about 2 years old. For many years he was engaged in mining in the Wickenburg district where a road named after him. He was interested in the famous old Gapsight mine near the border and in the New Cornelia West and other properties in the Ajo country.

Powers Sisson Gang Guilty of First Degree Murder

In Clifton Greenlee county a jury found Thomas Power, Thomas Sisson, and two Powers-Sisson brothers guilty of first degree murder for killing Graham County officials during a February 19 raid. The trial, moved from Graham County, recounts a dramatic manhunt across southern Arizona as officers and posses pursued theoutlaws into Mexico before capture.

A delegation from the Arizona Wool Growers Association, after talks with Washington officials, reports a settlement on shrinkage for Arizona wool. Choice stock in Boston is priced at 6.5 cents, average 5.5 cents, inferior 5.4 cents, with shrinkage not expected to exceed 1.6 percent.
