Substitute Bill Planned for Road Law
Phoenix March 7 The legislature moves to introduce a substitute for the Roberts road bill. It would levy about two million dollars annually through counties for road work, aiming to combine state and county efforts with federal aid and provide jobs during the postwar period. The Roberts measure remains pending and would have allowed a five mill county levy and higher taxes with county building control. The substitute is to be debated after a senate special order set for 2:30 tomorrow.
