The jury trying Bernice Anderson for shooting John Wilson at a Prescott sanatorium remained unable to reach a verdict after 24 hours of deliberation. Ashurst ridicules idea of church control of league
Washington June 20 Senator Sherman of Illinois warned in the senate that the league of nations could be dominated by a religious power. Senator Ashurst Democrat of Arizona countered that no sane person believes any church will rule the world and urged an end to religious prejudice in treaty debate.
