Territory murder trial ends in life sentence

The Territory of Jesus Vega and Manuel Bustamena were found guilty of first degree murder for the slaying of Ernest Kuykendail near Douglas last January. The jury fixed life imprisonment in the territorial penitentiary. A separate divorce suit was filed by Joseph Stoney against Stella Grzimala. The Avery case was dismissed after settlement. The Wright and Bibb burglary case was continued. The Arndt jurors could not agree and were discharged awaiting later hearing.

Woodmen Memorial Day Services Planned Tomorrow

Woodmen of World memorial services are set for tomorrow evening at the cemetery with a 5 30 pm march to the grounds. The order will conduct its ritualistic ceremonies and neighbors are invited to attend. A note mentions Chamberlains Cough Remedy as a safe home treatment for croup in children.

Arizonan Bitten by a Skunk Near Globe

George Bowen, a noted mining man, was bitten twice as he slept in a tent at Lost Gulch near Globe. The skunk attacked near his eye and then punctured his right thumb, prompting Bowen to travel to El Paso for Pasteur treatment. He killed the animal after subduing it with a blow to the floor.

Frank Spence To Be Sentenced To Death June 13

Judge Doe in Prescott has set Monday June 13 as the day Frank Spence will receive the death sentence for the murder of Edgar Sullivan. The remittitur from the supreme court will arrive before then and execution actions will proceed.
