The Chiricahua mountains are among the world's richest fields for botanists says naturalist J. Blumer of the West. He collected twelve thousand plant specimens during months in the range and finds fewer than fifteen comprise plants unknown to science. The specimens have been distributed to country and European collections, promising Arizona will be cited in newer botanical works.
