Copper output to fall in 1921 under Arizona view
W C Heikes of the U S Geological Survey says metal output appears to be at a standstill in many districts. Copper production in January to March runs about 35 million pounds monthly versus 46 million in 1920, with April seeing large producers stop mining and smelting due to weak markets. Arizona produced 558,256,302 pounds in 1920 valued at 102,729,180 dollars, compared with 538,100,864 pounds in 1918 valued at 1100,086,757. 200,000,000 pounds in 1921 would be surprising under current conditions.
