Florence Tribune reports County Treasurer PR Brady Jr failed to file quarterly statements and settlements, with a shortage estimated near eleven thousand dollars. Bondholders may be repaid if those who received funds disgorge, as sympathy grows after the death of Brady’s two children. The county board appointed W Y Piee as successor amid mounting concerns.
The board met July 15 17 19 1890 with K W Barr as chairman and M C Benton present in turns. Audited bills include abstract fees jurors and bailiff certificates and annual road and jail oversight orders are issued with instructions for quarterly reports and itemized claims.
