In New Mexico and Arizona a railway project faces conflict as crews push along the 130 mile stretch from Zeek to Tomb. The disputed route and power shifts threaten progress and prompt local leaders to seek resolution.
Local notes report squabs for a ule at the Can Can restaurant and a variety of curling irons at Tombstone Drug Store. Others include W K Meade ill in Prescott, Allen English and Ed Land in Los Angeles, L Cummings from Bistee, and Allen English selling Curley team of heroes to G W Cheyney.
An oddly mixed column shows a resident seeking a copy of citizenship papers from 1881, plus local notes from Anaconda era towns about marble works, railroad hopes, and county finances. It includes farewells, medical woes, a bake shop shooting, Yuma reservation mourning rites, refrigerator cars on an overland line, and salary fixes for Graham county officials, ending with a sale note for a tinners tools set at Wolcott's.

Official county minutes report the Cochise County Board meeting at Willcox with actions including appointing C H Moore as road master, posting a $500 bond, issuing a $10 warrant for M J Scribner costs, approving a 2:00 pm recess, and directing warrants to H Gerwein for doubled taxes in 1893. M D Scribner, county treasurer, granted 30 day leave from August 1 1894. clerk Nat Hawse records adjournment and attests. A line advertising Pongers at Warnekroe appears at end.
An advertisement touts four medicines with strong sales claims. King's New Discovery for consumption and colds, Electric Bitters for liver stomach and kidneys, Bucklen's Arnica Salve, and Dr King's New Life Pills are marketed as guaranteed remedies. Tombstone Drug Store carries them and offers more details from the local dealer.
The District Court of Arizona Cochise County issues a summons to Frederick W Brown trustee the Old Guard Mining Company Old Guard mine Tombstone district to answer a claim for work and labor on the Old Guard mine with liens and attorney fees. Judgment by default will follow if not served within thirty days. Clerk A H Emanuel seals the order dated March 28 1894.
