In Phoenix July 14 George Davis, 17, testified he instigated a plan to steal rifles from the armory. Davis said John Becker considered the plan crazy and alerted police. Davis described past thefts in Nebraska and California, claiming about ten rifles, ammunition, and a pistol were taken, with Becker receiving one dollar.

Gila County Leads State In Valuation Of Producing Mines

Burro Packing New Industry In This State

Tucson July 14 The burro is the latest Industry of Arizona and the United States. The flat burro plant has been set up quietly on the land of the Arivaca Land and Cattle company. There burros are being skinned, the meat dried and prepared for shipment somewhere east of New York harbor. The actual destination of the meat is unknown. The hides, however, are being cured and shipped to an eastern market, the identity of which is kept secret because of the possibility of rivalry in the young Industry.

A whiskey bottle wrapped in cloth served as the club. rain hid the crime. Police recovered all items, the burglar was fined $50 or fifty days, with jail time for nonpayment.
