A Kansas City dispatch reports Webster Davis gathered 212,604 signatures to back a petition sent to congress urging sympathy for the South African Republic and Orange Free State. The document asks congress to declare sympathy for the Christian peoples and urge Britain to settle the disputes. Davis plans to hand the petitions to the Boer consul in New York for delivery to the president.
