World silver markets endure despite sterling swings
New York dispatch notes world silver markets holding fairly steady amid sterling variability. Prices fluctuated from 6.414 to 6.458 with a year to date low around 6.334, while London saw 6.16 as the weakest since March. Trade data show China and India imports easing, with October exports totaling about 47.7 million ounces and India demonstrating renewed buying in the Far East. Overall domestic silver stocks and monthly production pace suggest prior year levels, though purchases remain unlikely to exceed 42 month totals from the previous period.
