State cuts prison beef price under competition
The board of directors of state institutions announced a series of price cuts for prison beef, dropping from wartime 18–22 cents a pound to 11 cents for September deliveries. Roads Recovering After Heavy Rains in Douglas
County engineer Smyth reported Douglas roads washed by heavy rains are returning to fair condition. Body of W. Frugenbecker to be shipped to Los Angeles
The body of W F Ruchenbecker a well known Tombstone resident who died a week ago will be shipped to Los Angeles tomorrow for burial. The widow and his son L F Rachenbecker will accompany the remains and a funeral will be held there while no local service is planned. The body has lain in state as friends visited and mourned the community leader. The train leaves tomorrow afternoon on the Golden State Limited from Fairbank arriving in Los Angeles the next day.

Aviation camp planned near Douglas with 35 buildings
A permanent aviation camp will be built near Douglas under Captain Imerson. Work has begun on a Fifteenth street tract at the city edge for aviation purposes. Thirty five buildings will be erected including hangars and living quarters for about fifty officers and fliers with ground forces.
