In Naco Arizona today rumors spread that negotiations in Nogales between Generals Villa and Obregon with Gov Maytorena may fail and lead to fighting. Gen Calles with 2500 to 2700 mounted men camps at Del Rio near Cananea, orders ranchers to have horses ready. Gen Hill reportedly sent to Nogales.
An old Delbridge letter reports Pearce residents rallying around a modern plant with hoist and power, noting crops grown without irrigation and community–minded locals from San Simoon South to Cochise. The piece highlights abundant beans melons corn and fruit, adobe homes and growing cattle stocks, with locals like Bill Gobring Tango Johns and Judge Monmonier mentioned.
A Phoenix dispatch reports Governor Hunt backs a government barbed wire fence along the international border west of Nogales to curb imported infected Mexican cattle.
