Boy Bitten by Rabid Dog Sent to Pasteur Institute
An Arizona boy, Susana Costa, five, from Walker, was bitten by a dog in Prescott eight days ago. Doctors in Chicago advised urgent treatment at the Pasteur Institute in Los Angeles, and the boy was brought toward the coast with his father, John Costa. The injury on the lips and chin shows the teeth marks, and the period to develop rabies ranges from nine to twenty one days, prompting swift action. This follows two prior animal bite cases in the region and underscores the institute's recommended post exposure regimen.
