New Orleans reported a deadly courthouse shooting where white attackers killed ten of thirteen prisoners, injuring three, linked to an earlier assassination attempt on James Liddell.
A London special notes that English, Scotch, and Welsh radicals grow convinced that Irish help can secure reforms. An alliance forms around home rule for Ireland, with workingmen in Parliament driving changes and Tory openness to home rule rising, signaling a possible dissolution of Parliament and shifts in power.
The Tombstone Stone Stockgrowers Association will hold its regular quarterly meeting on Saturday April 3 1886. The public library board decided to close free reading rooms evenings for now and open Wed and Sat 2 to 4 pm for ticket holders to exchange books and renew subscriptions.
