The Community high school election last Saturday approved the proposition by a 56 majority. Out of 398 votes cast, 10 were defective. Some residents lamented lack of women's votes and consider challenging legality. A meeting may select men to form a board of directors and oversee future school matters.

Stroke strikes Emil Garske at Spangler farm
Emil Garske, a worker at the Walter Spangler farm, suffered a stroke last Monday morning. He could not respond until later that day and was moved Tuesday to the Toluca home of his sister, Mrs. John Reichschlager. A physician treated him and estimated recovery in about ten days as the stroke affected his entire right side.

Barn Fire Destroys Toluca Area Barn on Bendlin Farm
A lightning strike Tuesday afternoon set the Mrs Ida Bendlin barn on the southeast Toluca farm ablaze. No livestock were harmed and the tractor was saved though damaged. insurance covers the barn and contents except the tractor. Neighbors aided the effort and Oscar Bendlin sustained slight wrist burns.

Robbery at Great Western Store Sunday Night
Thieves broke a rear door lock and took coats shirts and shoes from the Great Western store before 10 PM last Sunday. The amount missing could not be determined and no suspects or clues were found by Mr Rosefield’s brother who discovered the robbery.
