Boy 11 Is Slightly Injured By Exploding Cartridge
Adolph Klawitzer, 11, near town, was hit in the left eye by a fragment when a cartridge exploded while he and friend Lester Bonham tested air guns with 32 caliber cartridges. Initial fears of blindness faded as doctors saved the eye. Adolph spent days in a dark room and was kept wrapped to prevent cold. The incident ends a warning to boys to avoid handling live cartridges and to learn from the near tragedy.

Word reached here Monday that Maude Skelton aged about 34 died at her home in Pomona California from long standing lung trouble. She taught in Toluca and Rutland before relocating to Pomona about ten years ago. She leaves a mother Mrs Henriet ta Skelton two sisters Mrs Otto Riggle and Mrs Leslie, and two brothers Walter and Leslie. Funeral arrangements pending with interment likely in Pomona.
