Lost teeth on a Milwaukee train conductor memory
A reminiscence recalls George Malthouse, a Milwaukee railroad passenger conductor, who dropped his false teeth while moving between coaches west of Ventura. He searched with section men, offered a reward, and ran ads, but never recovered the teeth. The piece meanders through reflections on periodicals, literature, and cooperation.

Start Improving Old Pastures Now
Stockmen can improve pastures by opening gates and grazing down the old sod. Short grazing is advised to utilize all forage and prepare a seedbed while reducing erosion risks. Farmers should test soil, apply lime in fall, and plow shallowly on contour before ground freezes. Edgar Jacobson uses highway flares to deter owls and foxes from his turkey flock.
