The Kosuth County Board of Supervisors votes approval on settlements with the Chicago and North Western Railway Company over tile crossing damages, to fund crossways under the embankment and waive damages. It also appoints an engineer for Drainage District No. 97 to survey lands in La Verne township and to proceed with surveys and reports, with financial approval of $506.00 for the engineer and related administrative actions.
The September 3 1914 Kossuth County Board of Supervisors outlines formation of Wankook and Kossuth Joint Drainage District No 2 includes land in Bingham Township Hancock County and Kossuth landowners petition to drain and ditch. A bridge and culvert contract awarded to The Des Moines firm The Maral Engineering Company with unit prices specified. A state counting engineer is appointed to inspect and survey lands to be affected and assess benefits. The auditor is ordered to issue a special tax levy for Henry Brinkman due to inability to pay.
County authorities authorize open cash fund accounts led by the County Treasurer and Auditor. Transfers to the County Road and County Head Cash Bonds are specified, with refunds and disbursements recorded accordingly. The meeting also sets time for hearings on assessments and adjourns to later dates in 1913 and 1914.
The board dismisses Blake land dispute on NW of SW of Sec 10 7 28 reducing assessment from 238.00 to 9.00 and orders treasurer to record. A separate resolution awards drainage district open ditch bridge contracts to Maral Engineering Co of Dex Moles Iowa at 13.40 per cubic yard for specified bridge segments with notices and authorizes payments.
