A wide array of hall of fame outfield stars is debated, with Fred Clarke and Jimmy Sheckard praised as timers and Mel Ott highlighted for power. The piece ranks Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, and Babe Ruth as top AL contenders, contrasts NL pretenders, and narrates a Pacific theater quotation about a rule on third strikes cited by Ford Frick.
