In a dispute over the new state auto tax apportionment Burt was the sole Kossuth County town to file its certificate in time. The late filings caused all other towns to forfeit their shares, which revert to the county road fund. Treasurer McChesney and Deputy Mrs. Crose had notified officials, but Algona and others missed the deadlines.
Chas Pugh's threshing crew worked an eighteen acre field of Henry Abraham two and a half miles west of Shedd. They threshing from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. produced 2004 bushels from 608 racks averaging three bushels per weight, about 112 bushels per acre. Output averaged 265 bushels per hour.
