Bancroft CCC youth killed in Algona highway crash
A Mason City youth in the Bancroft CCC camp died instantly when his car collided head on with a semi trailer truck on highway 169 north of Algona. A fellow camp member from Mason City was seriously injured, brain concussion, in a foggy dawn crash on a crest of a hill. The truck belonged to Robinson of Bancroft. The accident marks the county's fourth highway fatality of the year.

The ceremony occurred Thursday noon August 29 at the bride's mother's home with Rev J G Waterman officiating. The couple planned a northern Minnesota and Black Hills trip and will reside on a farm north of Fenton upon returning. Mrs Huiskamp taught at Buffalo Consolidated School for three years and received warm congratulations from friends.

O L Thoreson, chair man of the county AAA committee, says the provision aids farmers using corn to feed livestock until the 1940 crop matures. Redemption rates remain 68 cents per bushel for 1937 1938 corn until Oct 1 and 417 cents per bushel for 1939 corn plus about 1 cent interest. Farmers redeeming part of stored corn must notify county AAA committees for inspection by the neighborhood corn sealer and to receive settlement terms based on grade No. 3 or higher and full quantity covered by the loan note.
