Robberies At Woden Point To Organized Gang
A gang believed to be active in the region staged Thursday night robberies in Woden taking about fifty to sixty dollars from J A Junker’s garage safe. The Consolidated Echo at Woden also reported a twenty five dollar cash theft, with other sites—Warmers Elevator and Thompson Yards—entered but robbed only at the elevator door. Fingerprints were found on dates entered. Authorities link the Woden case to earlier thefts at Forest City and a Burt J Thompson vehicle theft, aiming to connect similar crimes across Hawkeye and nearby towns. A later discovery of Junker papers at a Catholic church suggested bandits counted loot there. Deputy sheriff and fingerprint expert investigated.
