Funeral services for C W Shryver 72 who ran a blacksmith shop in Burt for over forty years were held Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian church conducted by Rev Js M Donig. Interment in Burt Cemetery. Graveside services were by Kossuth Lodge No 540 A F and A M of which he was a member. Surviving wife a daughter Nita Bien Baum of Denver Colorado and three sisters P N Satchett Burt J M Athes Oakes ND and Anna Addcliffe Falls South Dakota.

Child Drowns in Lily Pool Tragedy in Long Rock
Emergency reports reach the office of a two year old boy, child of Mr and Mrs Householder, Long Rock, drowned in a lily pool Tuesday afternoon. A similar accident occurred Sunday in Wesley where a 22 month old Arndorfer baby drowned in a water tank after disappearing briefly after dinner. The Arndorfer child was found in the tank after a search. A doctor said the child likely died about ten minutes before discovery.

Rites Held for 22 Months Old Drowning Victim
Funeral services were held for Gerald Arndorfer a 22 month old boy who drowned in a farm water tank seven miles south of Wesley. The infant disappeared Sunday after dinner and was found in the tank about ten minutes later. He would have been two on December 4th. Surviving are his father two brothers and two sisters. His mother preceded him in death August 7th. Dr C H Cretzmeyer of Algona stated the death was due to accidental drowning.

Woman narrowly escapes serious injury in crash
