The report states there will be no open season for pheasants in northern Iowa this year, a move welcomed by farmers there. The piece also notes local bank dividends, church appointments, a court case plea, and various community notices from Bancroft and surrounding towns.
Mr and Mrs Eden longtime pioneer farmers from Ackley move to Woden after 38 years on their present farm. Married in 1890 at Ackley they faced prairie hardship cyclone 1894 and later hail losses. They own land half a section near Woden with sons Geo Harm and daughters on nearby farms.
Arch W. McFarland of Waterloo was chosen by the state Republican committee in Des Moines on the 19th ballot to be the party’s Lieutenant Governor nominee to succeed the late Kimball. The decision aligns with cement trust and bond interest plans in the state.
The Rev. L.G. Gartner becomes the new pastor for Titonka and Dean and will preach Sunday after arriving Saturday. Parishioners are urged to support him in every way as he begins his work. Henry Stecker of this city suffered a paralytic stroke Tuesday morning and for a time was not expected to live. He rallied about noon Tuesday.
Two daughters of Rey Mayer and Mrs. D J Meyer of Woden wed Conrad Limberg and Harm Eden in a Christian Reformed church service. The brides attended by Hulda Eden and Mattie Limberg. reception followed with dinner. The newlyweds plan a farm home and a brief South Dakota honeymoon then residence on the Harm Limberg farm.
Ray G Squires who has served the M E church at Titonka for eight years is transferred to Rowan Rock Island south of Belmond in Story County Brink Shipler of Portland township and others failed to complete a farm deal. Last week Shipler bought an eighty acre Story County farm to move March first.
Notice to the public lists W. I. Callies B. Hansen W. A. Stott and Bouacker Brothers as stores closing on Wednesday evenings. Beet harvest in full blast in Titanka sector with daily tar loads of beets hauled to town. Rasmus Hangen weighs beets and Gus Richter handles dumping and loading. Himes sale planned for October 10th with personal property on offer.

The iossuth County Chapter of the Master Barbers of America held its first annual banquet at the Algona Hotel with about sixty attendees. Speakers included J. L. Knott, the oldest Master Barber in the state, T. C. Mac Duffee, and Hon. Robert L. Finch who spoke on standards and the future of barber shops.
