LaPollette captures Wisconsin and large margins in New York and Ohio. Illinois favors Democrats by three to one as Funnemark wins the Third District. ponnstetter claims State Representative seat by 667 votes over Jensen.

Mrs. A. L. Lewis mother of Britt mail carrier Emery J. Lewis died Sunday after a lingering illness on her seventy eighth birthday. She lived sixteen years in Bingham township and survived by four sons and three daughters. Funeral services were held at Humboldt with burial in Woden cemetery beside her husband.
Veterinary guidance from Dr. K W Stouder at Iowa State urges baring careful winter prep for pigs. Clean quarters of dust and manure, seal drafts on north and west, ventilate properly, bed with clean dry fodder and corn fodder, and ensure adequate protein and minerals to boost resistance.

August Becker a prominent Lakota area farmer residing three miles southeast of Lakota accidentally shot himself while lowering a loaded gun from a nail early Saturday morning as he prepared to go pheasant hunting. He died about an hour and fifteen minutes later. Surviving are his wife and four children. Local Auxiliary meetings and Armistice Day events were announced by the Breen Post of the American Legion and associated groups with plans for a pot luck dinner and a party at Pannkuk's Coliseum.
A Iowa State College survey of 146 farms in Butler Franklin Grundy and Hardin counties shows fence condition correlates with profitability. The study finds both high and low profit farms share similar proportions of poor fences across groups except on the largest farms where disparities appear.

The drive will begin after Armistice Day in many towns and proceeds stay in county for Red Cross work.
Iowa State College extension farm crops specialist E B Dyas reports corn trials in cooperation with Farm Bureau mem bers show promising drought resistant strains. Some plots yielded well above average for Iowa this season, indicating potential for drier years to come.
