Rates listed as 2.50 per year in Kossuth County and Titonka, 3.00 outside that territory, and 8.50 for Canada and foreign countries. Paper published weekly with second class postage in Titonka Iowa. Subscriptions to local and Titonka trade territory continue yearly unless canceled by subscriber or publisher.
The first conferences of the year are Friday November 5. Kindergarten to sixth grade teachers issued time sheets and some kindergarten sessions are Thursday afternoon. Junior and senior high parents pick up report cards on the Central Building second floor from Principal Loren Englund and then visit teachers. conferences are limited to five minutes per teacher due to large class sizes. A new report card type will be used, with duplicates kept by teachers. Coffee will be served in the lunch room.
The menu lists meals from Monday to Friday including vegetable beef soup with crackers and peanut butter sandwich, Tuesday features baked sausages with mashed potatoes and buttered peas, Wednesday offers goulash with a meat sandwich, Thursday serves creamed hamburger over mashed potatoes with a cheese sandwich, and Friday presents baked fish sticks with creamed peas and whipped potato cups. Each day includes milk and sides with a note that the menu may change without notice.
The Titonia Chamber of Commerce holds a regular meeting on Monday November 8 at John and Gen's Cafe. Supper is served at 6 30. Bishop Pools representative will show pictures and present information.
Titonia Federated Club gathers this evening at the library with co hostesses Mrs George Schuster and Mrs William Orthel. Mrs Edward Boyken will present The Status of Women and Mrs Rolland Fox will present Brasilia Today. Roll call will be a written book report. Brownie News reports Brownie Troop 421 meeting in the school AV room with 16 Brownies, 11 invested and pinned, five second year Brownies pledging, Halloween treats and games. Janine Boyken contributed treats.
The Titanica Women’s Society of Christian Service will meet Wednesday November 10 in Fellowship Hall at 2:00 PM. An executive meeting at 1:30 PM and prayer time precede the gathering. Mrs J K Hill will lead worship and Miss Hazel Budlong will present the lesson Where the Women Are. Hostesses are Mesdames Alfred Oesterreicher H W Kitzinger Louis Huber and Ted DeBoer.
The Band Mothers plan a meeting on Monday November 8 in the school lunch room. Members who were asked to donate for lunch served at the K and H meeting and have not paid may do so at the meeting or see Mrs Elaine Meier or Mrs Edward Harms.
The community list details many Sunday dinner guests and visitors to and from Titonka area households. Names include Garretts, Isebrands, Tjarks, Kurtzleben, Kortz, Krominga, Calbrath, and Ibsen among others, with travels to Emmetsburg, Woden, Parkersburg, Des Moines, Mason City, and Buffalo Center.
Monday dinner guests were Rey and Mrs Schuldt of Steward Mina Mrs Alfred Redenius and Arlene were afternoon callers.
