What Should We Do When The Flag Passes
A historic note explains proper flag etiquette from The American Legion. It states that all present face the flag, stand at attention, and salute. Those in uniform give the military salute while civilians remove headwear and place the right hand over the heart. Aliens stand at attention and women salute similarly. The salute occurs as the flag passes in a moving column.
