Good Roads Program Will Benefit Labor and Business
The article argues that new road bonds in Mahaska County and seven southern Iowa counties will spur a large labor boom and boost local business. It cites the $1.5 million Mahaska issue and about $7 million in county bonds, with most funds spent on labor, creating homes and spending within the counties. It also notes prior weather and road conditions affecting commerce and supports federal and state road programs as economic stimulus. It mentions Achievement Day for Home Project work in Algona and details program speakers and township participation.
