Insane Patient Escapes From New County Home
John Severson, 54, a patient at the new Kossuth county home, escaped Wednesday morning and is being sought by county officials. He was last seen about 11 o clock while working outside. Severson, formerly at Cherokee, was transferred to the county home in March with other patients. He is five feet eight inches tall and wore a brown wool jacket, blue overalls, and a black hat.

Fritz Gerdes Hurt in Ten Foot Fall at Alexander Iowa
Fritz T. Gerdes of Woden suffered a severe wrenching injury and several cracked ribs after falling ten feet from a scaffold while repairing game buildings at Alexander Iowa. He was brought home immediately and is under a doctor's care.

Officers Find Note In Japanese Lingo On Car
Police near Lone Rock read three notes written in Japanese attached to a car found four miles south and two miles west of Lone Rock. The occupants were two Japanese men linked to the International Chick Association of Fresno California working in the area. The car did not appear to slip off the road. Willis Cotton of Lone Rock was asked to tow the car to Algona. Cotton says the men have worked in Iowa during the past three hatchings. The front end of the car was damaged.

Eleven Algona youths escaped serious harm when driver Clarence Craig lost control on loose gravel near Plum Creek township. The car overturned three times and slid down a 204 foot embankment ten miles northeast of Algona. Fern Johnson suffered shallow cuts and Katherine Palmer a deep cut above the eye. Woden Seniors Take Skip Day Trip to Des Moines
Woden seniors held their annual Skip Day last Tuesday departing at 5:00 for Des Moines. Led by Supt Bodedroya and Chas Christensen, the group visited Bankers Life building WHO radio station Register and Tribune buildings the capitol and historical buildings and the municipal airport. Some members rode in an airplane and witnessed a range transport plane arrival.
