Wesley News Update on Government Corn Exports
The government take-over corn has been removed from Wesley since February 26. By Friday noon 111700 bushels had been handled at an average of 10640 per day. The corn sails to terminal elevators in Kansas City and other wheat belt storage sites in the south and southwest. Loading orders totaled 441000 bushels from the local bins, part of over 5 million bushels ordered shipped from kossuth county. Evacuation frees storage for farm deliveries of government corn in late summer and early fall. Frank Bleich of the Farmers Co-Operative Society says completion is expected by early October if weather cooperates and box cars are provided. Mr and Mrs Don Krause and Rickie and Lucille Herner visited.
