Long married life of Geerd and Gepke Alberts celebrated
Mr and Mrs Geerd Alberts of German Township marked their sixty fifth wedding anniversary on March 12 with a home service by Rev G Haken of the German Reformed Church. The couple, among Kossuth county’s oldest settlers, were married in 1844 and immigrated from Ostfriesland Germany in 1873. They have eight children, thirty three grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren. The family remains active church members and a large gathering joined in congratulations.
